Digital Theatre’s Education Mission

Digital Theatre’s recording of the live production of Frantic Assembly and State Theatre Company South Australia’s acclaimed performance of Things I Know To Be True by Andrew Bovell will be available to Digital Theatre’s worldwide education audience from February 22. This will be the second Frantic Assembly production (following Lovesong) to appear on Digital Theatre’s education platform, DT+.

AMC Theatres and Dolby Laboratories have opened the 50th Dolby Cinema at AMC at AMC Rosedale 14 in Roseville, Minnesota. “Reaching the major milestone of 50 Dolby Cinema at AMC locations is a direct result of the outstanding reaction we have received from moviegoers nationwide,” said Doug Darrow, senior vice president, cinema business group, Dolby Laboratories. “Our fast-paced growth is a testament to the shared commitment by Dolby and AMC to deliver movie lovers a best-in-class entertainment experience.”

Chronicling an Australian Legend

Red Dog: True Blue is the iconic Australian story of friendship and adventure between a young boy and a scrappy one-of-a-kind dog that would grow up to become an Australian legend. The film is the prequel to 2011's Red Dog. Both films were directed by Kriv Stenders, written by Daniel Taplitz, and photographed by Geoffrey Hall. The film features wide desert vistas of Western Australia. It was shot full 2.40 anamorphic using an Alexa XT with a Cooke Anamorphic/i lens package from boutique rental house HyperFocal of Sydney.

Screenvision Media Adds Eleven Exhibitors

Screenvision Media has signed long-term agreements totaling 1,790 screens across 170 theatres with eleven key exhibitors: National Amusements, Premiere Cinemas, Studio Movie Grill, Frank Theatres, Cinépolis, Classic Cinemas, Emagine Entertainment, Zyacorp Entertainment’s Cinemagic Stadium Theatres, Zurich Cinemas, CineLux Theatres and Cinema Café.

Cinépolis Upgrading Parsippany Theatre

Cinépolis is transforming its existing Cinépolis Parsippany theatre, located in the heart of Parsippany, New Jersey, into a Cinépolis Luxury Cinema, the exhibitor’s upscale movie-going concept. Among the first theatres to be acquired during Cinépolis USA’s recent expansion into the Northeast, the forthcoming 12-screen Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas Parsippany marks the exhibitor’s first luxury theatre in the region. Its introduction serves as the sixth theatre to join Cinépolis USA’s existing portfolio of dedicated luxury cinemas located in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, California.
