Barco will provide three digital cinema projectors to the International Film Festival of Kerala, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Every year, several national and international movies are screened at the festival for the very first time. The competition section is limited to 14 selected films, produced in Asian, African or Latin-American countries.

The 23rd Openlucht (Open Air) Film Festival in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands presented seven nights of blockbuster movies with 3.1 cinema sound provided by a Meyer Sound Leopard linear sound reinforcement system. Recently acquired by Aukes Theatertechniek of Amsterdam, the Leopard system delivered power and clarity for nightly audiences of 1,500 in a secluded forest meadow outside the city. Covering an audience area 40 meters wide by 60 meters deep were full-range left, center, and right channels of four Leopard line array loudspeakers each, supported by an under-screen array of six 900-LFC low-frequency control elements.
The Gent-based Kinepolis multiplex is featuring Barco laser projectors during Film Fest Gent October 12-25. Eight festival movies will be screened on Barco laser, including the opening and closing movies. The Walk, the 3D retelling of tightrope artist Philippe Petit's 1974 walk between New York's twin towers.
On the day of its world premiere at the 38th Mill Valley Film Festival, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Green Day have announced a collaboration with Abramorama, Reprise Records and Vimeo to distribute the documentary, Heart Like a Hand Grenade, an unprecedented behind the scenes look at the writing and recording of their legendary album American Idiot. Abramorama will release the film theatrically in the United States on more than 135 screens on October 15 followed by an exclusive Vimeo On Demand release the next day, October 16.
Rough Riders Studios’s feature documentary South Bureau Homicide will be making its world premiere at the 2015 Saint Louis International Film Festival November 14 at the Hi-Pointe Backlot Theatre.
