ArcLight Cinerama Dome Upgrades for Billy Lynn

ArcLight Cinemas has collaborated with Christie to custom fit the legendary Cinerama Dome in order to properly project the west-coast debut of Academy-award winning director Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk in 3D 4K 120 frames-per-seconds, the way it was shot. The debut will be held November 10.

Cineplex First in Canada with 4DX

Cineplex Entertainment in partnership with CJ 4DPlex, today announced that Canada’s first 4DX auditorium will open its doors on Friday. Premiering at Cineplex Cinemas Yonge-Dundas and VIP in Toronto, Ontario, Cineplex’s 4DX auditorium features 80 specially-designed motion seats that are further enhanced by environmental effects like wind, mist, bubbles, snow and scent that work in perfect synchronicity with the action on the big screen. Amplifying the experience from watching a movie to almost being in it, the new auditorium will feature the latest Hollywood new releases, beginning this Friday with the premiere of the highly anticipated film Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

Nightmare on Elm Street in a New Light

The original 1984 Warner Bros. horror classic Nightmare on Elm Street will screen in Los Angeles this Halloween weekend with a new twist: the film will be screened with immersive visual effects from Phillip's new cinema experience, LightVibes. The film is being shown at L.A.’s Downtown Independent Theatre tonight at eight p.m. and October 30-31 at seven p.m.
