JT Bioscopen, The Netherlands, Installs Barco Laser Projector
The Dutch cinema chain JT Bioscopen is installing a Barco 6 primary Laser3D (6P) laser-illuminated projector in its brand-new Hilversum Media Park seven-screen multiplex. With 21 multiplexes in 19 cities around the country, JT Bioscopen is the second largest theater chain in The Netherlands.
RealD Patent Infringement Lawsuit against Volfoni Is Dismissed
Volfoni announced today that RealD has agreed to dismiss the U.S. patent lawsuit against Volfoni in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. RealD had claimed that Volfoni's SmartCrystal Diamond 3D cinema system infringed on its U.S. patents.

Archimedia Master Player Upgrade Supports Closed Captions, Subtitles
Archimedia Technology, a new company whose technology and applications bridge the gap between content producers and their archives without loss of quality, has released Archimedia Master Player v2.1, an update to its software that frame-accurately plays all common archiving and master formats in use today. AAM Names John Aalbers CEO Replacing Howard Kiedaisch
Arts Alliance Media has announced that Howard Kiedaisch will be stepping down as CEO after nine years in the position. John Aalbers, former CEO of telecom industry software provider Volubill, will become CEO effective July 7. In addition AAM’s Cinema distribution division will merge with its content production and finance company, and sister company to AAM, Mr. Wolf. This merger will create a separate, newly integrated content production, finance, distribution and marketing business focused on delivering Event Cinema. The new company will do business under the name Arts Alliance Limited.

China Movie Media Group to Open Los Angeles Office
China’s largest movie media group, China Movie Media Group (影时尚 Ying Shishang), announced today it will open its first United States office in Los Angeles, California. In tandem, it will team with its first U.S. studio, Paramount Pictures, to launch the marketing of Transformers: Age of Extinction (TF4) in China, a movie that has incorporated many Chinese elements and locations.
