Sony Music Entertainment and Trafalgar Releasing have announced the premiere of George Michael Freedom Uncut, a deeply autobiographical feature documentary narrated by the late Grammy Award winner. George Michael Freedom Uncut will be released as a global cinema event on Wednesday 22 June.

B&B Theatres and CJ 4DPlex have announced the development of several new ScreenX theaters located in B&B multiplexes across the U.S. The new openings will result in a total of eight ScreenX auditoriums across B&B multiplexes by 2023.
Major Cineplex, Thailand, Opening Second ScreenX Theatre
CJ 4DPlex and Major Cineplex, the largest cinema chain in Thailand, have signed an agreement to open the first ScreenX PLF auditorium at Major's multiplex at Siam Paragon in Bangkok, Thailand. The new ScreenX PLF auditorium will have 336 seats and a 20-meter-wide screen, the largest ScreenX in the country.
Megaverse VR Theatre Opening in Atlanta
What is being called the world’s first interactive virtual-reality theatre is opening in Atlanta. Created by new technology company Exploring Digital, the new theatre, called the Megaverse, combines VR headsets and hand controls with a multi-sensory haptic experience unlike anything on the market. With unlimited freedom to move, people physically interact in this VR theatre, literally stepping into a metaverse environment.
PVR, India, to Introduce Cinema Pods to Some Theatres
Film exhibition company PVR Cinemas has entered into an agreement with Oma Cinema of France to introduce the concept of cinema pods in the Indian market. Through its vertical architecture, Oma provides the audience with an intimate cinematic experience with tiered balconies, or pods, enabling viewers to enjoy a sociable cinema experience while enjoying a perfect view of the screen.

Aeon Entertainment, Japan, Adding Two Imax Theatres
Aeon Entertainment and Imax Corporation today announced plans to expand their partnership with an agreement for two new, Imax with Laser systems in Japan. Both new systems will be located at prime retail complexes in thriving suburbs of major Japanese cities, including the Aeon Cinema Ichikawa Myoden outside Tokyo and Aeon Cinema Shijonawate near Osaka.
