First Sphera Opens in Greece

Australia’s Showbiz Cinemas has chosen the Christie CP2208-LP 3DLP laser phosphor cinema projectors to be deployed in all auditoriums. Located in the new Delacombe Town Centre complex in Ballarat, Victoria, the contemporary 530-seat cinema complex comprises six screens and features luxury seats, surround sound and wall-to-wall screens, with the largest screen in Cinema 1 hall measuring 10 meters wide. The cinema opened August 31.
Volfoni Limited launched an upgrade program designed to provide a path from legacy 3D cinema hardware systems from other manufacturers to the latest-generation 3D cinema hardware systems from Volfoni. The manufacturers included in the program are MasterImage, Dolby and XpanD. The program recognizes the past investments that customers have made, and provides incentives to let them easily and affordably replace outdated 3D systems.

For the third year in a row, QSC Cinema has been honored with the prestigious Teddy Award, an annual award voted by dealer members of the International Cinema Technology Association. The award recognizes the ICTA Manufacturer that best exemplifies the progressive principles of product development, and provides the dealers with service and up-to-date technical and sales information, while supporting the status of their product without qualification. The Teddy Award was presented to QSC at the recent annual ICTA Convention in Berlin, Germany.
