Side by Side Documentary to be Archived on Kodak Film

Producers Keanu Reeves and Justin Szlasa have chosen to create a film element of their feature documentary Side by Side on Kodak Vision 3 Color Digital Intermediate Film 2254. This intermediate post-production step will also provide the producers with a master for making 35mm film prints. The 2254 will then be archived at the Academy Film Archive, which is providing substantial and instrumental support to preserve this culturally significant exploration into the evolution of digital and film formats.

Accomplice Media director Alberto Belli has attracted audiences of millions worldwide with his riotously funny short films. Earlier this year, his short comedy For Your Consideration became a worldwide viral sensation. A hilarious spoof of Les Miserables and actress Anne Hathaway’s desperate pursuit of an Oscar nomination, the film, generated millions of views on YouTube and was featured on The Today Show, Inside Edition and similar shows around the globe.

Rising to the Dark Challenge of Lighting a Horror Film

Horror films have a certain style: cramped quarters, heat, now-you-see-it-now-you-don’t or did-you-really-see-it. Lighting for the suspense, and horror of the genre is always a particular challenge but one that cinematographer Steve Romano believes he handled nicely the indie feature The Girl, which was directed by Jennifer Blanc-Biehn.

Zephyr Benson Overcomes Many Obstacles in Feature Debut

The movie’s budget was ultra-low, the shooting schedule just 21 days, and the studio mostly the mean streets and cramped tenements of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Add a first-time director/screenwriter who is also portraying the film’s main character, and it was clear that making Straight Outta Tompkins presented multiple challenges.
