Sonic Equipment Now Implementing CE+S Cielo

Sonic Equipment has announced that it is now implementing Cinema Equipment and Supplies’s Cielo platform, a cloud-based, remote monitoring, technical support and predictive analytics solution across all their customers. The company says this will allow Sonic to increase business efficiencies and provide superior customer support. For the past two years, Sonic and CE+S assisted each other with field services. Now, following this formal partnership, the two companies can work together to be a stronger force in the cinema industry and offer even better and more efficient service to Sonic and SOS clients.

WCPMedia Supports MIA for Third Year in a Row

Cinema West Opens All Dolby Complex

Cinema West Veranda Luxe Cinema is the first cinema complex to fully integrate all Dolby technologies for an immersive Dolby Atmos audio experience across a total of nine screens. Located in Concord, California, the complex has a grand opening scheduled for December.

MoviePass Reaches 600,000 Subscribers

MoviePass surpassed the mark of 600,000 paying monthly subscribers as of October 18, up from approximately 20,000 as of August 14, the day before MoviePass announced its new $9.95 per month subscription price. The continued growth trajectory exceeded MoviePass’ initial projections, and now MoviePass projects that it will acquire at least 3.1 million additional paying subscribers by next August, exceeding its previous estimate of 2.5 million subscribers.

Regal to Offer Moviebill in 2018

As the digital cinema era enters a new phase, exhibitors are increasingly looking at better ways to directly engage with their customers. Regal Cinema, long an industry leader, seems to have found a particularly interesting one. Concourse Media principals James Andrew Felts and Matthew Shreder announced today a deal with Regal Entertainment Group to distribute Moviebill, an interactive new product that has been crafted to enhance and extend the 21st century movie going experience. The inaugural edition will be announced later this year for a 2018 launch.
