Cinewav's outdoor cinema audio technology has been granted a U.S. patent. Cinewav replaces other sound systems including FM transmitters or broadcasting in outdoor movie theaters, with a phone-based app. Users can simply watch on a large screen and listen on their phone via a small down-loaded audio file that syncs with the images displayed on the screen.
Toho Cinemas, Japan, is installing Cinionic’s Barco Series 4 laser projection in 159 of its theatres. Following an initial laser installation in late 2020 at Toho Cinemas’ Tachikawa Tachihi location, laser projection by Cinionic was selected for the chain’s presentation technology renewal. Work is now underway to complete the project in the coming months, offering Japanese moviegoers an environmentally friendly and elevated cinematic experience.
