Second Annual Event Cinema Conference to be held October 16

The Event Cinema Association has announced the line up for its second annual conference, taking place October 16 at the recently restored independent cinema, the Genesis in Mile End, East London. Featuring two panel discussions concerning marketing event cinema and a focus on new business models and technology, the conference also has a unique new format, a total of six break out sessions taking place over the course of the day. Sponsors of the conference include DSAT Cinema, LANsat, Rentrak, Philips, DCM and Audience Entertainment.

Screenvision, Phase 4 Films Present Duran Duran Unstaged in Theatres September 10

The iconic British rock band Duran Duran will take over North American movie theaters on Wednesday, September 10th for a one-night-only showing of the film Duran Duran: Unstaged. This movie showcases the band’s March 23, 2011 concert at the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles, which was part of the American Express Unstaged concert series that celebrated the band’s All You Need Is Now album and world tour. Screenvision in alliance with Phase 4 Films will screen the film in over 300 locations.

Grading Shakespeare

Experienced freelance colorist and online editor Ian Grey was responsible for the stylish 2D color grading for Globe on Screen's three titles for Shakespeare’s Globe’s 2014 theatre season. The plays include three of the playwright's most popular and well-known works: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth and The Tempest, which were recently released through the Arts Alliance Media. Grey did the grading on a Mistika. Mastering and deliverables, including conversion for cinema, were completed at BTV Post by its digital media services department.

AAM Names John Aalbers CEO Replacing Howard Kiedaisch

Arts Alliance Media has announced that Howard Kiedaisch will be stepping down as CEO after nine years in the position. John Aalbers, former CEO of telecom industry software provider Volubill, will become CEO effective July 7. In addition AAM’s Cinema distribution division will merge with its content production and finance company, and sister company to AAM, Mr. Wolf. This merger will create a separate, newly integrated content production, finance, distribution and marketing business focused on delivering Event Cinema. The new company will do business under the name Arts Alliance Limited.
