Lotte Cultureworks, a newly established subsidiary of Lotte Group that oversees the operations of Lotte Cinema, has purchased 120 Christie cinema projectors for deployment in its new multiplexes in South Korea, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Vettri Theatres has become the first cinema in India to be equipped with a Christie CP4325-RGB RealLaser cinema projector. Located in Chennai, Vettri Theatres is one of the most prominent cinemas in the city’s Chrompet district with a single-screen auditorium featuring ergonomic cushion seats, three-way stage speakers and eye-catching interiors. The massive auditorium has a capacity of 776 seats and is highly popular among students, working professionals and residents in and around Chrompet district.
Volfoni has been granted patent number 10,151,932 in the U.S. territory for its three dimensional elliptical polarization. Previous third-party cinema systems for 3D have required the use of passive 3D glasses based on either circular or linear polarization. Volfoni’s innovation instead uses passive 3D glasses based on elliptical polarization. According to the company, this not only improves the overall light efficiency and performance, but also avoids a host of other third-party choices, which specifically mandate the use of circular polarization.

Cinema technology specialist Influx Worldwide has announced a program to make the cinema experience on the African continent more accessible, convenient and enjoyable. The program, It's Showtime for Africa, will give qualifying cinemas full access to Influx's suite of cinema guest experience technologies including ticketing websites, mobile applications, kiosks, food and beverage ordering systems and more with no financial commitment.

iQiyi today announced that the company’s first offline Yuker on-demand movie theatre in Zhongshan, Guangdong is now THX certified. Tao Lei, vice president of iQiyi, and Wu Hao, general manager of THX China unveiled the official THX Certified Cinema plaque during the opening ceremony launch event in Zhongshan, Guangdong on November 9. The company’s said this milestone not only reinforced iQiyi’s adherence to the company vision of “to become a technology-based entertainment giant”, but also demonstrated iQiyi and THX as the ideal partners to enable shopping malls to drive traffic and enhance engagement with consumers, as part of an ongoing transformation of retail spaces into digital entertainment complexes
