CJ 4DPlex has reached the 500th 4DX screen milestone with the launch of its newest location at Pathé Belle Épine Cinema in Thiais, France. The first film screening in 4DX at this location was Ready Player One.

IMAX Corporation, IMAX China Holding and Guangzhou JinYi Media Corporation, one of the largest exhibitors in China, have announced an agreement for 30 new IMAX theatres to be located in a combination of new and existing complexes across the country.

EclairGame, the eSports-based entertainment solution for cinemas from Ymagis Group, and Les Cinémas Gaumont Pathé are strengthening their partnership established last year with the expansion of the competitions in the Fifa Tour 2018 championship to the Pathé Carré de Soie cinema in Vaulx-en-Velin and the Gaumont Montpellier Multiplex and Gaumont Wilson in Toulouse in addition to the Pathé La Villette cinema in Paris.

Opening weekend audiences for Ready Player One at Regal Cinemas nationwide will be the first to preview a trailer for Moviebill, the augmented reality platform. Concourse Media's principals and Moviebill cofounders Matthew Shreder and James Andrew Felts made the announcement.

A world-first, cinema-centric tool, it draws on past audience behavioral data, helping cinema marketers connect moviegoers with the films most suited to them. They can then work out how best to incentivize attendance.
Sony Names Bob Raposo Head of Theatre Business
Industry veteran Bob Raposo has joined Sony Electronics’ Professional Solutions Americas group as head of its theatre business. In that role, Raposo will focus on expanding Sony’s relationships with exhibitors and delivering a new experience for moviegoers through crystal LED direct view technology as well as Sony’s high dynamic range-ready 4K laser projector.
Landmark Theatres Signs with MoviePass
MoviePass today announced an agreement with Landmark Theatres, the nation’s largest theater circuit dedicated to exhibiting and marketing independent film. Landmark Theatres is owned by Wagner/Cuban Companies, a group of media properties co-owned by Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban.
4DX Touches All the Senses
This past Saturday at the CGV Buena Park 8 in Orange County, California, CJ 4DPlex debuted Titanic: An Icy Adventure, a special movie presentation created with blind and visually impaired children in mind. More than fifty children and their families attended the first ever showing of the audio-only story supplemented by 4DX cinema technology.

Arts Alliance Media has named Patrick Foley CEO as a result of the planned departure of John Aalbers.
