A new report details the median budget of a European theatrical fiction film released in 2018 and those films most important financing sources. The report is based on the actual budget analysis of 568 European live-action fiction films released in 2018. Researchers say this is probably the largest ongoing pan-European data sample available to date on the financing of European fiction films.

The title set a single market record for opening day of $163 million and opening weekend $397 million. Costa Rican cinema chain CCM Cinemas has opened the country’s first movie theatre equipped with an RGB pure laser projector. The cinema, located at Plaza Occidente multiplex in San Ramón, the country’s second largest city, has installed a Christie CP2315-RGB projector, as well as Christie Vive Audio speakers and Dolby Atmos sound. The installation was carried out by the systems integrating company Vidicom
National CineMedia and Harkins Theatres, the fifth-largest exhibitor in America, have signed a long-term cinema advertising affiliate agreement to bring NCM’s Noovie pre-show entertainment program to millions of Harkins movie fans across the Southwest. With the addition of Harkins Theatres, NCM’s national theatre network now includes all of the top five exhibitors in the country.
