Industry Veterans Join Klipsch Group

The Klpsch Group has announced the addition of two consumer electronics veterans to the company as part of an internal reorganization, positioning Klipsch as the leader in innovative audio solutions. Chad Vogelsong is senior director of product and channel marketing for the Digital, Streaming and Portable Audio Solutions division, a new division. Dusty Thomas serves a dual role as cinema sales manager in North and South America, as well as the channel marketing specialist for the Component Audio Solutions business unit.

Vicon Research Reveals Obstacles to VR Success

A survey conducted for Vicon suggests that virtual reality will need to overcome key challenges including the production of affordable consumer devices, in order for it to become a success. The results, based on a survey conducted by Vicon, gauged the opinion of 390 industry professionals. It highlighted that alongside cost, other factors such as content and realism stand in the way of virtual reality becoming an overnight success. In fact Vicon estimates that virtual reality will take off in the next two – three years.

Boy and The Beast Opens March 4 in U.S.

Funimation Entertainment will release acclaimed director Mamoru Hosoda’s The Boy and The Beast will open on March 4 and screen in theaters across the U.S. Theatergoers will be able to purchase tickets to watch either the original Japanese language version (with English subtitles), the new English dub version produced by Funimation, or both.

Userful Claims World's First 6K Real-Time Network Video Wall

Userful Corporation has released Userful 8.5, a multi-source video wall controller that the company says supports video walls of up to 60 displays with up to 6K-resolution source in real time over a standard Ethernet network. A single PC or server running Userful software is now able to support video walls of up to 60 screens through the network.

ScreenX Opens Second U.S. Site

ScreenX, the multi-projection system that allows moviegoers to go beyond the frame of the movie screen by extending the images onto the theatre walls, is opening its second site in the U.S. in Las Vegas in February. After launching the first publicly available theatre at the CGV Cinemas Los Angeles earlier this month, ScreenX is set to open its second screen at the AMC Town Square 18 in Las Vegas. For the second feature film to be shown in this unique format on American soil, ScreenX will feature Mojin: The Lost Legend. Already breaking records in China, Mojin is a science fiction tale following the adventure of a retired tomb raider pulled back into his old profession.

WCP Media Hires Cameron Thomson Group

WCP Media Services has engaged Cameron Thomson Group as its global commercial development partner. Under the arrangement, Cameron Thomson will assist WCP Media Services in expanding the company’s flagship content management solution across the global media marketplace. Cameron Thomson Group’s president Ronald Thomson will take an active role in WCP Media Services as managing director of Global Business, in conjunction with his worldwide team.
