She Dies Tomorrow Filmmakers Discuss the Film at NAB Show New York

The creative team behind Neon’s She Dies Tomorrow will participate in a panel discussion on October 23 during NAB Show New York’s online conference. The session, which will explore the use of sound and picture finishing to create suspense and emotional tension in feature films, will be available on the main stage channel.

Director Angel Manuel Soto's powerful award-winning coming of age drama, Charm City Kings won the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Prize for Ensemble Acting at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Inspired by the dirt-bike culture revealed in the documentary 12 O'Clock Boys, the film is the story of Mouse (Jahi Di'Allo Winston), a boy who desperately wants to join an infamous clique of bikers that rules the inner-city streets of West Baltimore. It centers on the 14-year old's emotional struggle between a strait and narrow path and the thrill and fast money of a biker's world filled with violence.

The Effects of The Eight Hundred

Rising Sun Pictures served as a principal visual effects provider for The Eight Hundred, the epic war film from director Guan Hu and Huayi Brothers Media and Haining Seventh Image Movie & Media Company. To date, the film has already earned more than $200 million in Chinese theatres alone. The film centers on the true story of the 1937 Battle of Shanghai where a Chinese battalion mounted a determined defense of the Sihang Warehouse from the invasion of the Japanese army. Working in collaboration with BangBang Pictures, Beijing, and overall VFX supervisor RSP’s Tim Crosbie, RSP contributed scores of richly detailed, seamless visual effects to support the film’s riveting combat scenes, all set around a massive warehouse complex near the city center.

VFX Legion Opens British Columbia Facility

VFX Legion, a remote boutique-style global company, has announced the opening of a full-scale division in British Columbia. An early proponent of the virtualization of visual effects, industry veteran James David Hattin launched the company in 2013, introducing a groundbreaking collaborative work-from-home business model almost a decade before COVID-19 made social distancing essential. New York Film and TV Production Resumes with Changes
