Vue Entertainment, UK has signed a multi-product deal with Unique Digital to transform the way Vue manages its digital cinema estate. Vue has deployed Unique Digital’s Smart Trailering centralized trailer planner, Basekey KDM management tool and Ad-Transit pre-show automation solution.
Bow Tie Cinemas has signed on to become National CineMedia’s newest affiliate. Beginning in the first quarter of 2017 Bow Tie’s 43 theaters with 271 screens in Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Virginia will become part of America’s Movie Network.
Christie has introduced the CP2308-C, which it calls a high value Xenon projector, based on a powerful new electronics platform. The new projector was unveiled this week at CineAsia 2016 in Hong Kong.
According to Christie, its RGB laser projection system continues to be the preferred choice for a premium 3D cinema experience by leading cinema exhibitors across China. Since its rollout in June 2014 with the world’s first commercial RGB laser projection system installed at the Shanghai Film Art Center, Christie’s pinnacle projection technology has seen widespread adoption, the company said.
Barco has introduced two high-contrast flagship laser projectors for premium cinema screens and five new laser phosphor projectors for small to large screens. They include the 2K SLP series for small to mid-size screens and the 2K/4K BLP range for mid-size to large screens. The 6P RGB high-contrast range doubles the contrast of Barco’s current flagship laser projectors and provides exhibitors with an even broader choice in the Premium Large Format segment. The BLP laser phosphor projectors will be shipping by the end of 2016; the SLP laser phosphor and LHC high-contrast projectors will be available first half of 2017.
Dolby Laboratories and The Walt Disney Studios today announced that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in theatres December 16, will be available in more than 50 Dolby Cinema locations around the globe.
The Event Cinema Association has announced the launch of an ECA chapter in Moscow to help grow the event cinema sector in the Russia and CIS territories. ECA board member and industry veteran Oleg Berezin of Nevafilm, St. Petersburg, will run the chapter.
Unique Digital has formed an exclusive reseller partnership with Sagaology Beijing Limited to make Unique’s software products available to the Chinese Exhibitor market. Withexclusive reseller rights for the Chinese market, Sagaology will work with local exhibitors and Integrators to debut RosettaBridge TMS, RosettaNet eTMS, Basekey KDM management services to the Chinese market. Sagaology will also provide installation, training services, product knowledge and support for the Unique Digital product line.
