Arri will be honored for its role in advancing the art and craft of filmmaking with the Cine Gear Expo 2015 Lifetime Technical Achievement Award on June 5 in a ceremony at Paramount Studios Hollywood. The distinction recognizes Arri’s dedication to advancing motion picture technology over its 98-year history. Arri president and CEO Glenn Kennel will accept the award.

Dolby’s short animated film Silent won two Daytime Emmy Awards at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Daytime Creative Arts Emmys ceremony, held last Friday in Los Angeles, California. Created in conjunction with Moonbot Studios and CAA Marketing, a division of leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency, Silent represents the evolution of film technology from the silent-film era to the present day. The three-minute film celebrates how storytellers, inventors, and technology work together to create magic in the cinema.

Entertainment industry veteran Wendy Aylsworth, senior vice president, technology, Warner Bros. Technical Operations, has been selected as the 2015 recipient of the Inter-Society for the Enhancement of Cinema Presentation’s Ken Mason Award, honoring an individual who has made outstanding long-term contributions leading to the overall improvement of the motion picture experience. Rob Sim, president and CEO of the Sim Group of Companies, today announced that Alexandra Raffé, vice president of production for Thunderbird Films, is the recipient of the 2015 Douglas James Dales Industry Builder Award. The award was presented to Raffé at the annual PS Dinner on the Hill, held during the Canadian Media Production Association Prime Time Conference in Ottawa.
