Hula Post’s Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Hula Post Production provided editorial systems, facilities and support to editor Melissa Kent and her crew during the production of the indie film Louder Than Words, the new dramatic feature from Identity Films. Hula set up and maintained a remote editorial facility in Connecticut, where the film spent five weeks shooting, and later provided editorial facilities at its Tribeca West location in West Los Angeles.

The American Film Institute Announces Time Warner Fellowship

The American Film Institute has announced a half million-dollar grant from the Time Warner Foundation to create five full scholarships to the AFI Conservatory for applicants from communities traditionally under-represented in film and television. Side by Side Documentary to be Archived on Kodak Film

Producers Keanu Reeves and Justin Szlasa have chosen to create a film element of their feature documentary Side by Side on Kodak Vision 3 Color Digital Intermediate Film 2254. This intermediate post-production step will also provide the producers with a master for making 35mm film prints. The 2254 will then be archived at the Academy Film Archive, which is providing substantial and instrumental support to preserve this culturally significant exploration into the evolution of digital and film formats.

Lighting for the suspense, and horror of the genre is always a particular challenge but one that cinematographer Steve Romano believes he handled nicely the indie feature The Girl, which was directed by Jennifer Blanc-Biehn.
