Hill County Studios, the film and television complex being developed in San Marcos, Texas, announced today it has appointed Kevin Bar as chief operations officer. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Bar joins Hill Country Studios from Netflix, where he oversaw development and operations for Netflix Studio hubs across the U.S. and Canada as a member of the global studio operations team.
Fancy House of Visual Effects in New York has appointed two highly accomplished visual effects veterans to its senior team. Janine Conway joins the studio as senior producer, helping to oversee production and business development. Chris Green becomes compositing supervisor, focusing on visual effects for features and television.
When cinematographer Zach Kuperstein got the job to shoot writer-director Zach Cregger’s horror feature Barbarian, one of the first things he did was reach out to Light Iron senior colorist Sam Daley. The two had previously worked together on a short and three independent features — The Eyes of My Mother, The Vigil, and Paper Spiders — but their collaborations began during post, not during pre-production.
