B&B Theatres, the seventh largest U.S. movie theatre chain, and Dealflicks have successfully launched a mix of full-priced tickets and deals across B&B’s 391 screens and 49 theatres. While online ticketing for all films and show times will be available, a varied amount of ticket and concession deals will be available for movies on certain days.

Supercines today announced a sales agreement for five new IMAX theatres in Ecuador. The exhibitor is the largest cinema operator in the country. The theatres will be added to a combination of new and existing complexes throughout Ecuador with three to be located in the city of Guayaquil, one in the city of Ambato and another in the city of Machala. The deal brings to seven Supercines' total IMAX footprint with theatres currently in operation in Guayaquil and in Quito.
Cosmic Picture has launched a new giant screen film distribution company for museum and science center theaters. The company will distribute a range of films, including a number of giant screen educational films from the National Geographic library, including award-winning documentaries such as Sea Monsters, Extreme Weather, Mysteries of the Unseen World and its own hit Jerusalem.
Italy’s historic Istituto Luce–Cinecittà has selected WCPMedia Services to manage its massive catalog of Italian feature films and documentaries. The state-owned film producer, distributor and archive will use WCPMedia’s cloud-based platform to market, sell and distribute films to buyers worldwide.
Ymagis Group today reported its consolidated financial results for the fourth quarter of 2017 and its full year revenue for 2017 December 31, 2017. Driven by its technological services activities and recent acquisitions, Ymagis Group continued its growth momentum with revenue up by +0.8 percent in 2017 despite the structural decline in virtual print fees activities. During Q4, business stood at its highest historical level as revenue reached €54.1M (+3.5 percent).
Wanda Cinemas’s Wujiaochang theatre in Shanghai’s Yangpu District is installing Samsung’s Cinema LED Screen technology, becoming the first implementation of Samsung’s Cinema LED Screen in China. This follows implementations in Asia last year in Seoul and Busan, Korea, and Bangkok, Thailand, and in Europe, at the Arena Cinemas Sihlcity in Zurich, Switzerland.
Digital cinema technology is defined by a collection of documents developed by many different organizations. No one organization defines it all, and in one case, the organization no longer exists. To address that situation, industry veteran Michael Karagosian has launched the website Cinepedia. His goal is to provide a single source of information about cinema technology. Among his many accomplishments Karagosian represented the technology interests of the National Association of Theatre Owners for eleven years during the digital cinema transition and is co-chair of the ASC Technology Subcommittee on Next Generation Cinema Display.
