Following its recent acquisition of Movie Tavern and increasing its footprint to 90 locations and 1,098 screens across 17 states Marcus Theatres has signed a new long-term agreement to install Vista Group’s cloud-based Cinema Manager theatre management system across its entire circuit.

Ymagis Group has asked the Commercial Court of Nanterre to place one of the French subsidiaries of its Éclair business unit, Éclair Cinema SAS, in receivership given the performance of its activities in post-production and the restoration of cinematographic and audio-visual works. Éclair Cinema represented 5.5 percent of Ymagis Group’s revenue for the first half of 2018 and almost all losses recorded over this same period. In 2017, the subsidiary generated revenue totaling €12.4 million.

iQiyi today announced that the company’s first offline Yuker on-demand movie theatre in Zhongshan, Guangdong is now THX certified. Tao Lei, vice president of iQiyi, and Wu Hao, general manager of THX China unveiled the official THX Certified Cinema plaque during the opening ceremony launch event in Zhongshan, Guangdong on November 9. CJ 4DPlex announced today an agreement with Kinepolis to bring the 4DX immersive-seat experience to six additional Kinepolis cinema complexes. Less than one year after the opening of its first 4DX theatres in Antwerp, Brussels, Lomme, Madrid and Valencia, the company has announced six additional 4DX theatres, which include three in Belgium (Kinepolis Hasselt, Ghent and Rocourt), one in Luxembourg (Kirchberg), one in France (Kinepolis Nîmes) and one in Spain (Kinepolis Diversia, Madrid).
