Ymagis Group has appointed Georges Garic as its new deputy chief executive officer. For the past three years, Garic was executive vice president and president, EMEA of international electronic manufacturing services company Asteelflash.
Dolby Laboratories and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced a collaboration to release SPHE titles in Dolby Atmos over the coming years, including SPHE’s first films to be released in the 4K Ultra HD disc format. The first films to be released in the new 4K Ultra HD disc format with Dolby Atmos include The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Salt, Hancock, Chappie, Pineapple Express, and The Smurfs 2 in early 2016, with additional titles to be announced throughout 2016 and beyond.
Independent cinema operator Broadway Kino has signed Germany’s first Managed Services customer agreement with Sony Digital Cinema 4K. Under the terms of the deal, Broadway Kino replaced older DLP Series 1 projectors at two of its six screens with new Sony SRX-R515DS 4K dual projection systems.

As previously announced, concurrently, Scott N. Schneider, the company’s lead director, has been appointed chairman of the board. Current chairman, CEO and president Kurt C. Hall will retire and serve as an advisor to the board and CEO in a 24-month consulting role.

ScreenX, one of the world’s first multi-projection systems that allow theatergoers to go beyond the frame of the movie screen by extending the images onto the theater walls, is making its official U.S. premiere on January 1.
