Doc Asks: Are We Alone?

Are we alone in the universe is a question that human beings have pondered likely since the dawn of time. The new documentary film ET Contact: They Are Here documents the jaw-dropping stories of individuals from around the world who share similar accounts of extraterrestrial otherworldly encounters. Written, directed and produced by Caroline Cory, the film takes viewers on an extraordinary journey to uncover whether these seemingly independent yet parallel reports may actually be scientific evidence of a greater phenomenon at work.

A Riot of Color

MTI Film colorist provided final post services for three new videos directed by Phillip R. Lopez, including a release from Russian punk band Pussy Riot with the provocative title Straight Outta Vagina. In finalizing the look of the videos, colorist Alex Chernoff collaborated directly with Lopez who’s been garnering a lot of attention for his visually stunning short films and music videos.

The Deuce, the new drama from HBO and executive producers David Simon and George Pelecanos, is set in 1970s New York City where prostitution and crime were rampant, and the modern adult entertainment industry was just coming into its own. Bold, brash and visually intoxicating, the series finished natively in high dynamic range at Technicolor PostWorks New York. To grade the project, colorist Sam Daley collaborated with director of photography Vanja Černjul.

Alamo Installs 100th EclairColor Screen

The Ymagis Group has installed its first screen in the United States and its 100th cinema auditorium overall with EclairColor high dynamic range at the Alamo Drafthouse cinema in Austin, Texas. The 100 EclairColor screens are currently located across Germany (47) and France (46), the United Kingdom (3), Italy (1), Switzerland (1), Tunisia (1) and the USA (1).

EclairColor HDR Showcased at FNCF

Ymagis Group will showcase EclairColor HDR cinema technology at the upcoming Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français convention in Deauville, France. Two special presentations will take place at the Centre International de Deauville’s Michel d’Ornano Auditorium on September 26 and 27. Technical presentations of the technology will be also held. The EclairColor presentations will be open to all FNCF convention delegates

The Color of Tulip Fever

Technicolor in London has completed post on Tulip Fever, a romantic period drama from The Weinstein Company and directed by Justin Chadwick. As well as performing the grade, conform and deliverables, Jean-Clément Soret, MPC’s global creative director of color grading, was also responsible for completing the trailers, allowing the audience to be immersed in the look and feel of the movie from the preview onwards.
