You’ve introduced your main character the setting the time the theme and you’re introducing other major and periphery characters. You’re getting to like your story pretty well when all of sudden you hit a block. What is your story about? This question is asked many times over each day in the film business and you’d better be prepared for it. Your story is about a character that reacts to something that causes him to begin acting instead of reacting to what is going on around him.
Two Big Topics will be 3D and 4K but a Bigger Topic will be 401Ks Stated or unstated the number one topic at this year’s National Association of Broadcasters convention will be the weakened global economy. No company is completely unaffected and while 3D and 4K workflow will be hot topics and there will be the usual technology and business announcements the impact of limited available resources of both money and manpower will color everything. Sweden’s SF Bio Theatre Chain Wins Digital 2009 Apex Award The 2009 Apex Award for innovations in a digital signage hospitality installation has been awarded to Swedish movie theater chain SF Bio. SF the largest movie theatre chain in Sweden worked with Scala Partner Zone Systems to develop a digital signage network in eight movie theaters that consists of digital menu boards dynamic movie posters and screens for previewing film trailers. SF Bio uses the network to cut costs associated with creating printing and transporting menus and posters.
TDF Plans to Deliver Digital Cinema Services Across the Continent The TDF Group has unveiled its plans to deploy a pan-European delivery service for digital cinema. TDF will provide electronic delivery of digital copies to theatres in Europe leveraging on its established presence in 10 territories. TDF has already connected 60 theatres in six countries and plans to double the number of connected theatres in 2009 and 2010. The news was unveiled last month in Paris at TDF's First Digital Cinema Conference.
Searching for the Superpowers Inside By Stian Hafstad We made this short film Nemesis last fall. The film was made by a group of film students at the University of Bergen Norway as a part of a scriptwriting course. We are now on our final semester of a three-year degree. It was shot in five days on various locations in Bergen after about six weeks of planning. It was edited in about 15 days with an extra two weeks for effects and color correction. Basically we could make a movie about whatever we wanted so we decided to go with this script.
Tampa Bay History Center Gets an Upgrade Visitors to Tampa’s Channelside district are discovering the newest attraction in town the Tampa Bay History Center where multimedia theatres and interactive exhibits make some of the area’s best-kept secrets come to life. Electrosonic working with the museum division of Art Guild designed fabricated and installed the multimedia components of the new building which is on the City’s Riverwalk.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has presented the annual Daily Mail Newspaper Enterprising Young Brits - People’s Choice Award to Dean Rhodes-Brandon founder of Your Local Cinema .com a not-for-profit cinema listings and information service for people with hearing or sight problems. Thousands of people including readers of the Daily Mail newspaper voted for the twenty finalists. Winner Dean was a finalist in the teen category and his company Your Local Cinema .com received the most votes overall.
