Located in Long Beach, California, the nonprofit Aquarium of the Pacific is Southern California’s largest aquarium and the fourth largest aquarium in the United States. Venice Cinemas has deployed a suite of innovative projection and content management solutions to deliver awe-inspiring visuals in its upgraded multiplex in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Located in the bustling business district of Zhongli, Venice Cinemas is spread across two buildings connected by an iconic, red-colored pedestrian bridge reminiscent of those found in Venice, Italy. It recently underwent a major facelift by adding five new halls at the basement level, boosting the total number of cinema auditoriums from 10 to 15. These five new halls are equipped with 8.5-meter (27.8 foot) screens, adorned in special color schemes, and connected to a spacious lobby featuring highly immersive waterfall projections that accentuates the multiplex’s distinctive aquatic theme.
Costa Rican cinema chain CCM Cinemas has opened the country’s first movie theatre equipped with an RGB pure laser projector. The cinema, located at Plaza Occidente multiplex in San Ramón, the country’s second largest city, has installed a Christie CP2315-RGB projector, as well as Christie Vive Audio speakers and Dolby Atmos sound. The installation was carried out by the systems integrating company Vidicom

The Rooftop Cinema Club partnered with Ultimate Outdoor Entertainment to create the Drive-In at Armature Works in Tampa, Florida. Earlier this year, UOE began providing Rooftop with the screens, technology and equipment to add drive-in movies to their rooftop cinema experiences. Last week’s grand opening featured Grease. The Tampa location is the third venue UOE and Rooftop have partnered on; several more locations are expected by Spring 2021.
Roxy Cinemas chose NEC 4K RB laser projection systems to equip its new boutique multiplex at Al Khawaneej in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which is finally opening after a series of delays caused by COVID-19. This is the first fully equipped multiplex using NEC projectors in the Middle East, making it an important step for the manufacturer into the regions’ cinema market.
