The animated series Welcome to the Wayne recently debuted on Nickelodeon, becoming the network’s first original series to move from digital to broadcast. The series launched in 2014 as a series of shorts on Nick App and Nick.com. Created by Billy Lopez, the show centers on two 10-year-old boys living in a Manhattan high-rise, dubbed The Wayne, where they are involved in all manner of wild adventures.

The Mantra, The Movement and the Swami Who Started It All is a documentary film on the life of Srila Prabhupada—the 70-year-old Indian Swami who arrived in America without support or money in the turbulent 1960s and ignited a worldwide spiritual phenomenon with only his unflinching determination and faith. The film posted at AlphaDogs in Burbank. As with most historical documentaries, the biggest hurdle the team had to overcome were the technical challenges inherent in working with multiple source formats.

The report, from industry analyst Futuresources, synthesizes fieldwork drawn from vendors, content creators and service providers, along with mobile device forecasts and existing research. It found that the race is on to develop the essential killer application and, ultimately, to establish the dominant platform for mobile AR/MR content.

Stature Films Acquires Fujinon MK50-135mm T2.9 Zoom Lenses

Toronto-based Stature Films is the first North American customer to purchase FujiFilm’s new Fujinon MK50-135mm T2.9 zoom lens. Stature Films, best known for its commercial and documentary production, was an early adopter of the first in the MK Series – the MK18-55mm – purchasing two shortly after the lens’ introduction last February.

Nine Mile Circle Hires Julia Merrill as Executive Producer

Atlanta post house Nine Mile Circle has hired Julia Merrill as executive producer. Merrill, whose background includes nine years as a writer/producer for Cartoon Network, will lead client relations, business development and project management. She will also work with Nine Mile Circle editor and owner Kyle Kramb in implementing the company’s further expansion plans, including a move to a larger facility this fall.

Keslow Camera Acquires Clairmont Camera

Keslow Camera announced today that it is acquiring Clairmont Camera and its Vancouver and Toronto operations. The move will more than quadruple Keslow Camera’s anamorphic and vintage lens inventory, and add a substantial range of custom camera equipment to the company’s extensive portfolio. Simultaneously, Clairmont founder Denny Clairmont, one of the industry’s most respected talents in front and behind the camera, announced his retirement. The acquisition is expected to be complete on or before August 4.
