Éclair Announces Deployment Deal with Brazilian Digital Cinema Integrator Quanta

Éclair today announced an agreement with São Paulo-based Quanta for the deployment of Éclair’s broadband network and digital content delivery systems, including its innovative ÉclairPlay content delivery platform, across Brazil. The joint service offering has been designed to meet the needs of film producers, distributors and cinema exhibitors in Brazil seeking an alternative full-service digital content distribution & broadband delivery network, including mastering and trailer services, key digital message management and content delivery to cinemas around the country.

CJ4DPlex Unveils World's First Four-Sided 4DX Screen

CJ 4DPlex unveiled what it called the world’s first four-sided 4DX Screen movie theatre at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show currently underway in Las Vegas. The company also introduced an indoor AR platform that seamlessly combines reality with virtual objects and announced an ultra-wide zoom lens in development, which can reduce projection distance by 70 percent compared to standard projection lens.

Aquarium of the Future Opens in California

The Aquarium of the Pacific, located near the waterfront in Long Beach, California, recently opened its “aquarium of the future,” called Pacific Visions, which features an immersive theatre, multiple interactive art installations, and hands-on multimedia displays. Brian Edwards, owner of Edwards Technologies, the integration firm that designed and installed the theatre AV and FX system at aquarium, says the project is an example of the future of both the AV industry and of storytelling as a whole.

Studio Movie Grill Raising Money for Equal Justice Initiative

Studio Movie Grill is partnering with Warner Bros. Pictures and Participant to offer pre- and post-opening private screening experiences of the new film Just Mercy, scheduled to release nationwide on January 10. During these special screenings, SMG will donate five percent of the proceeds from food and beverage sales to the Equal Justice Initiative, founded by Bryan Stevenson.

Voolsy Screen Enters Exhibition Market

Indian digital signage company Voolsy Screen has introduced cloud-based software designed for movie theatres that will enable exhibitors to manage or update content across multiple screens from a single dashboard. Content can be scheduled well in advance, the company said in a press release, adding that the software supports images, HTML or videos.
