MPS has launched its new cinema distribution platform, OnCinema, bringing together MPS’s years of experience in the field to offer long-term, sustainable delivery to the industry.
CinemaNext, part of the Ymagis Group, has opened its first French regional sales and technical support office at the Pôle Pixel in Villeurbanne, a suburb of Lyon. Olivier Douet, head of sales for CinemaNext France, Switzerland and Africa, manages the office.
Unique Digital has expanded its Movie Transit Network to include the cinemas of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Directed from Unique Digital’s local office in Vilnius, Unique Digital has deployed the Movie Transit network for feature film delivery in all three Baltic countries in a rollout conducted in less than two months.
The Swedish Film Institute, Stockholm, today announced their decision to share and distribute their vast library of classic Swedish films for cinema audiences in partnership with Unique Digital’s Movie Transit network. The Swedish Film Heritage, consisting of more than 8,600 titles, is currently being digitized by the Swedish Film Institute to make selected features available to Swedish cinema audiences everywhere. Utilizing the Movie Transit Network, Swedish Cinema goers will now be able to experience classics such as Körkarlen (1921) by Victor Sjöström, Såsom I en spegel (1961) by Ingmar Bergman, Amorosa (1986) by Mai Zetterling, and Resan till Melonia (1989) by Per Åhlin.
Gravitas Ventures and Incognito Pictures have entered into a licensing agreement for North American distribution. Incognito Pictures has established a Film Finishing Fund for independent films and documentaries in need of completion and distribution. For films that meet the requirements, Incognito will acquire and complete the projects and in turn, Gravitas will release these films in theaters and/or VOD.
Ymagis Group has acquired Berlin-based Cine-Logistics, one of Germany’s leading distribution services for movie distribution companies and German-speaking cinema exhibitors. Under the terms of the agreement, Ymagis SA, through its wholly owned subsidiary Ymagis Deutschland becomes the sole shareholder in Cine-Logistics.
IMAX has announced a distribution and marketing partnership, which provides Discovery Communications' flagship network Discovery Channel with 18 months of exclusive paid global television rights for up to 10 IMAX documentary films to be released through the IMAX Original Film Fund, following the titles' theatrical release across the IMAX institutional theatre network. The alliance marks IMAX's first television distribution agreement for original content.
Cinedigm has acquired all North American distribution rights to Amateur Night (formerly Drive, She Said). The film will be released theatrically mid-2016, and will be simultaneously made available on digital and TV VOD platforms, with a DVD release to follow later in the year.
Ymagis Group has appointed Serge Sepulcre as the new director of Éclair’s Digital Distribution division. Sepulcre joins the company from audiovisual specialist VDM SAS, where he served as sales director for five years.
Notorious Pictures has licensed Maccs Rights & Royalties as well as Prints & Advertising modules to run its distribution operations, Maccs International CEO Bert Huls announced today.
