This past February, DTS and CJ 4DPlex announced a strategic alliance to bring DTS:X immersive audio technology to ScreenX theatres worldwide. What the companies didn’t announce at the time was that their first joint project together was already up and running in Liberty, Kansas. B&B Theatres brands their premium large format offerings as Grand Screens, which counts as typical Midwestern understatement because, at four stories tall and seven stories wide, the new B&B Theatres Liberty 12 currently features the largest ScreenX auditorium in the world.

QSC Expands the Q-SYS Ecosystem for Cinema Applications

Dolby Atmos Passes 500 Screen Mark in India

Dolby has reached a milestone of more than 500 installed Dolby Atmos screens across India. From Indian multiplexes – including 16 all Dolby Atmos multiplexes – to independent and single screen exhibitors, Atmos screens are found in 143 cities and 22 states and Union Territories in collaboration with Carnival Cinemas, Cinepolis, Inox Cinemas, PVR Cinemas, SPI Cinemas and other independent exhibitors.

GDC Reaches Major Milestones with its Server Technologies

GDC Technology today announced that more than 60,000 of its cinema media servers have been shipped to customers worldwide. According to the company, more than a third of the world's cinema screens, from renowned art houses to ultra-modern multiplexes, count on GDC Technology to enable new possibilities for big screen content and experiences. GDC also announced today that its SX-4000 immersive sound media server with a built-in DTS:X decoder, and the XSP-1000 immersive cinema sound processor reached a milestone of 1,000 screens worldwide.
