Cineplex Adds New 4DX, ScreenX Installations

Cineplex today announced that it had added new immersive theatre formats 4DX and ScreenX in locations across Canada. The multi-sensory 4DX experience is now open at three new locations: Cineplex Cinemas Winston Churchill in Oakville, Ontario; Cineplex Cinemas Hamilton Mountain in Stoney Creek, Ontario; and Scotiabank Theatre Edmonton in Edmonton, Alberta.

CJ 4DPlex has unveiled new logos for its immersive seating technology 4DX and its sister brand, the multi-screen technology ScreenX. As 4DX and ScreenX have been rapidly expanding worldwide, the company implemented the new branding to increase brand consistency for 4DX and ScreenX. The goal is to position the 4DX brand as an exciting cinematic experience for customers for the next 10 years. 4DX has seen unprecedented growth and has gathered explosive popularity recently. CJ 4DPlex hopes the new branding will entrench 4DX and ScreenX as a must for global movie fans.

Green Street Embraces Immersive Sound

Established in 1994 by composer, sound designer and dialogue director Rob King, Green Street Studios has accumulated more than 20 years of experience in audio and music production for video games, film, music and other media. Anticipating the growing acceptance of immersive-sound projects for games, film and television, King spent much of the last two years auditioning speakers for the 7.1.4 array he knew would become the standard in the emerging immersive media environment.

Ford v Ferrari Releasing in ScreenX, 4DX

CJ4DPlex and The Walt Disney Studios have announced the release of 20th Century Fox’s Ford v Ferrari in the 270-degree, panoramic ScreenX format. Ford v Ferrari in ScreenX will be coming to theatres worldwide beginning November 13 and will be releasing on 270 screens, across 27 countries, including 32 screens in the U.S. with Regal Cinemas, B&B Theatres and CGV Cinemas. The film opens in the U.S. on November 15.
