Volfoni today announced that it has voluntarily withdrawn its opposition against the granting of RealD’s patent no. EP2067066 in Europe. Volfoni made this strategic business decision due to the fact, the company says, there is no infringement between Volfoni’s current generation of products and RealD’s patent.
RealD announced today that the European Patent Office’s Opposition Division has upheld the validity of one of the company’s key patents for light-doubling 3D cinema projection systems. Volfoni and MasterImage had both challenged the EPO’s grant of RealD’s European patent, which covers optical architectures in light-doubling 3D cinema systems.

MoviePass has signed a media partnership with iHeartMedia, a leading U.S. multi-media company. The new agreement includes an extensive marketing campaign across iHeartMedia’s multiplatform network including radio, digital, social and live events to help build further brand awareness of MoviePass and target new subscribers in select U.S. metro markets that have active movie-going audiences. In addition, iHeartMedia will be an authorized reseller of ad inventory across the MoviePass website and mobile app.
Less than 30 days after announcing its milestone of one million subscribers, MoviePass announced today that it has added another 500,000 new paying subscribers since December 12, 2017. MoviePass is a majority-owned subsidiary of Helios and Matheson Analytics.
