Imax China today named Daniel Manwaring as its chief executive officer, effective January 9, 2023. He succeeds interim CEO Jiande Chen, who will return to his full-time role as vice chairman of Imax China.

The award-winning visual effects studio Milk is opening a new studio in Bordeaux, France in January 2023. Leading the creative team and head of studio will be Milk VFX supervisor Andy Morley, who has been operating out of France for the last year. He will work with his extensive network of VFX talent in France and across Europe in addition to developing his relationships with key schools and universities to access the best emerging talent.

The Motion Picture Sound Editors will honor two-time Academy Award-nominated supervising sound editor Gwendolyn Yates Whittle with its 2023 Career Achievement Award. Whittle, whose more than 150 film and television credits include Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Minority Report, Munich, Iron Man, Cloverfield, Jurassic World and Fight Club, will receive the award at the 70th MPSE Golden Reel Awards February 26, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.
Neon has named Andrew Brown president of digital distribution. The executive, who has served as senior vice president of digital strategy, marketing, and distribution for Neon since 2017, will also continue to serve as co-chairman of Decals, the home entertainment distribution company launched by Neon and Bleeker Street last year.
