Empire Cinemas has expanded its footprint in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the inauguration of its first branch in the Madina region. Situated at Al Rashid Mall, this marks Empire Cinema’s tenth branch in Saudi Arabia, featuring 10 screens with a total seating capacity of 764.
The cinema complex includes specialized facilities such as a children’s theatre and a dedicated play area, while incorporating state-of-the-art technologies to enhance the overall visitor experience.
This new addition in Madina aligns with Empire Cinema’s ongoing commitment to delivering better cinema experiences and contributes to the flourishing cinema sector in Saudi Arabia. In Q2 2023, the Kingdom’s cinema sector witnessed a notable growth of 28 percent.
Speaking about the new branch, Gino Hadad, chief executive officer of Empire Cinemas said, “Having joined Saudi Arabia’s market in 2019, in collaboration with Abdul Rahman Saad Al Rashid & Sons, our objective has always been to offer a unique cinema experience that falls in line with the goals of Vision 2030 and creating a lively community through cultural and entertainment facilities that follow global standards.”
He added: “Our Medina cinema branch attracted a large number of visitors and we look forward to welcoming more in the near future.”
Empire Cinemas now boasts a total of 112 screens across its Saudi Arabia portfolio, offering diverse cinema experiences through eight luxurious options featuring cutting-edge technologies.
This marks Empire Cinemas’ second cinema branch opened in 2023, following the Riyadh-Rawaba branch in June.
The Madina branch introduces four exclusive experiences, including Imax Laser, designed to immerse audiences with laser technology projectors and advanced sound systems, ensuring a heightened cinematic experience. Additionally, the cinema complex offers the Screen X experience, allowing viewers to enjoy movies on a large three-sided screen with a 270-degree view.
