Ymagis Group has signed an agreement with leading Scandinavian cinema chain Nordisk Film Cinemas (Egmont) to oversee technical customer service and field services for Nordisk’s entire network of 21 locations across Norway, representing a total of 78 screens.
Cinema Intelligence has signed with B&B Theaters to roll out to approximately 50 cinema locations. Cinema Intelligence, a Vista Group company, provides business intelligence to increase exhibitor revenues by optimizing the forecasting, planning, and scheduling of movies and events. As B&B is a Vista Cinema customer, the pre-built Vista integrations will enable the rapid deployment and use of the Cinema Intelligence suite.

Deluxe Entertainment Services Group has launched a Brazilian sign language (LIBRAS) localization service. The service – the first of its kind outside of Brazil – is designed to help studios meet Brazil’s new LIBRAS accessibility requirements, which began to be enforced as of September 17 and necessitate that studios produce and deliver LIBRAS video recordings for any feature released in Brazilian theaters.

Australia’s Showbiz Cinemas has chosen the Christie CP2208-LP 3DLP laser phosphor cinema projectors to be deployed in all auditoriums. Located in the new Delacombe Town Centre complex in Ballarat, Victoria, the contemporary 530-seat cinema complex comprises six screens and features luxury seats, surround sound and wall-to-wall screens, with the largest screen in Cinema 1 hall measuring 10 meters wide. The cinema opened August 31.
Volfoni Limited launched an upgrade program designed to provide a path from legacy 3D cinema hardware systems from other manufacturers to the latest-generation 3D cinema hardware systems from Volfoni. The manufacturers included in the program are MasterImage, Dolby and XpanD. The program recognizes the past investments that customers have made, and provides incentives to let them easily and affordably replace outdated 3D systems.
