In a unique interactive film experience created by celebrated artist and filmmaker Anna Odell, powerful men such as hockey legend Börje Salming, a former president of Interpol and a Swedish former minister of justice are offered the chance to undergo gynecological exams as a way of showing their vulnerability. Studio Movie Grill Raising Money for Equal Justice Initiative

Studio Movie Grill is partnering with Warner Bros. Pictures and Participant to offer pre- and post-opening private screening experiences of the new film Just Mercy, scheduled to release nationwide on January 10. During these special screenings, SMG will donate five percent of the proceeds from food and beverage sales to the Equal Justice Initiative, founded by Bryan Stevenson.

Cinemark Signs 10-Year with Cinionic for Barco Laser Projection

Cineworld to Acquire Cineplex

Cineplex, Canada, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by the Cineworld Group. With more than 11,200 screens around the globe, the proposed transaction will create one of the world’s largest cinema companies, providing Cineplex with scale and all the benefits associated with a global enterprise, the company said.

Cineplex Adds New 4DX, ScreenX Installations

Cineplex today announced that it had added new immersive theatre formats 4DX and ScreenX in locations across Canada. The multi-sensory 4DX experience is now open at three new locations: Cineplex Cinemas Winston Churchill in Oakville, Ontario; Cineplex Cinemas Hamilton Mountain in Stoney Creek, Ontario; and Scotiabank Theatre Edmonton in Edmonton, Alberta.
