CJ 4DPlex has named veteran marketing executive Bobbie Andrews as its new senior vice president and managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Andrews has more than 15 years of theatrical industry experience and will lead strategic growth and marketing efforts across EMEA for the cinema technology company’s groundbreaking, premium formats, ScreenX and 4DX.
The International Union of Cinemas, representing European cinema trade associations and operators, has today released preliminary estimates for 2022 box office and admissions across the territories it covers. Neon has wrapped production on Tilman Singer’s Cuckoo, the feature film debut of Hunter Schafer (Euphoria). The horror film, written and directed by Singer, was shot in Germany. With plot details being kept under wraps, post-production is currently underway for the film’s 2023 release
The Göteborg Film Festival has appointed Josef Kullengård head of industry. Kullengård has a broad background in film festivals and industry forums. He joined Göteborg Film Festival in 2017 as the industry producer for the Nordic Film Market and worked with the development of the industry program up until 2021.
CinemaNext has signed a service agreement with leading Scandinavian cinema chain Nordisk Film Cinemas to oversee remote technical support services for Nordisk’s entire network of 47 locations across Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, representing a total of 258 screens.
