The International Cinema Technology Association has announced the 2023 winners of the ICTA EMEA Awards, celebrating technological leadership, design, and innovation in the cinema exhibition sector. The award winners are Cineplexx Ljubljana, Slovenia (Best New Build Cinema of the Year), Cineplex Münster, Germany (Best Cinema Refurbishment of the Year) and Forum Sittard, The Netherlands (Best Classic Cinema of the Year).

Chris Meledandri will receive this year’s CinemaCon Award of Excellence in Animation, Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon, announced today. CinemaCon, the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners, will be held April 24-27 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Meledandri will be presented with this special honor at the Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony taking place on the evening of April 27 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and hosted by official presenting sponsor The Coca-Cola Company.

The SFFilm festival in San Francisco has announced the feature film BlackBerry from co-writer and director Matthew Johnson is the 2023 recipient of the SFFilm Sloan Science on Screen Prize, an award that celebrates the compelling depiction of scientific themes or characters in a narrative feature film.
