Premiering at the 2017 Austin Film Festival where it won Best Narrative Short, Demon tells the story of a desperate man emerging from the night where he encounters a solitary shack in the middle of the desert. It is in this night setting where he discovers a dark secret that the property owner possesses. Cinematographer Drew Dawson shot the supernatural drama/thriller, directed by Caleb Slain just outside Joshua Tree National Park. The Demon script had the setting as a desert landscape with a full moon. According to Dawson, the goal was to capture the entire film with moonlight, practicals, and minimal film lights
Good things come to those who wait, as cinematographer Remi Adefarasin, OBE BSC will testify, following his recent large format shoot with Cooke Optics S7/I full frame plus prime lens range on the period feature film Lyrebird. Imperative Entertainment’s Dan Friedkin is directing the film. Imperative is also producing alongside Ridley Scott.

Written during the McCarthy era and published in 1953, Ray Bradbury’s classic dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451, is set in a society where books are outlawed and firemen are charged with burning them. The novel has had many adaptations, most famously in François Truffaut’s 1966 film, which starred Oskar Werner and Julie Christie. In 2018, Ramin Bahrani co-wrote and directed the film adaptation for HBO, starring Michael B. Jordan, who also served as executive producer. The Queen of Sin, the third film shot by Serge Desrosiers, CSC (a.k.a. Sergio Di Rosa), for Incendo Productions and its cable network client Lifetime, is a departure from what most people consider the traditional Lifetime made-for-TV movie. “The Queen of Sin is unlike any film that I’ve done for Incendo and Lifetime,” explained Desrosiers, whose second Lifetime film, Sometimes the Good Kill – also shot with Cooke lenses – has been nominated for an ASC 2018 award.
Panavision has introduced the Millenium DXL2 8K camera, which the company says is the heart of a complete imaging ecosystem designed from filmmakers’ perspectives. The new camera incorporates Panavision’s optics and camera architecture, the Red Monstro 8K VV sensor, and Light Iron color2 science (LiColor2).
