The Motion Picture Sound Editors has announced the results of its annual Board of Directors election. Elected to two-year terms in Executive Seats are Jeremy J. Gordon as Sergeant-at-Arms, Paul Rodriguez as Treasurer and Mark Lanza as Vice President. They join continuing offices Frank Morrone (President) and Christopher Reeves (Secretary). Lanza and Rodriguez were incumbents.
Continuing to build its resources for scripted television, Chainsaw, a Sim Group company, today announces the hiring of veteran colorist Kim Schneider. Schneider arrives with more than 20 years of experience in television post-production, including a seven-year run as final colorist for AMC’s Sons of Anarchy. His first assignment at Chainsaw will be as final colorist for the hit ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars.
Deluxe Creative Services has promoted Billy Gabor from senior colorist to managing director of its Atlanta studio, which currently is home to local outposts of Company 3, Method, Encore and Beast. The new position serves to further unify the post-production services of each company under the Creative Services umbrella.

Ted Rae, an Emmy and BAFTA nominated Visual Effects Supervisor whose credits span feature films, episodic television and commercials, has joined Los Angeles-based FuseFX. Rae is currently leading FuseFX visual effects teams for the CBS series Scorpion and the WB series Stalker. He is also assisting with several projects through FuseFX’s new Vancouver facility.
JVC Professional Video today announced it has promoted Chris Dalaly to assistant vice president, production and entertainment, effective March 1. In his new position, Dalaly will work to expand JVC’s brand presence in the cine and production markets.
Creative editorial company Beast has hired executive producer Astrid Downs to oversee projects for its Santa Monica office. Downs comes to Beast with a well-rounded background gained from working across production and post-production for over a decade.
Modern VideoFilm has appointed Julie Currin as vice president of sales/feature film. Currin will lead a new effort to grow Modern’s share of the post-production market for motion pictures and enhance its relationships with major studios, independent producers and filmmakers. Her background includes more than 15 years in senior sales and marketing roles, including posts with Deluxe, Laser Pacific and Technicolor.
