New York Women in Film & Television has given eight scholarships to film, television, and media production students at New York area schools in 2024 as part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of women in media.

The National Association of Theatre Owners announced today that it will honor Sean Gamble, president and CEO of Cinemark, with the 2025 NATO Marquee Award during next year’s CinemaCon. Gamble is being recognized by NATO for his unwavering dedication, commitment, and service to the motion picture theatre industry. He will receive the industry’s highest tribute as part of CinemaCon's State of the Industry program on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. CinemaCon will be held March 31-April 3, 2025, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve will receive the Cinema Audio Society’s Filmmaker of the Year Award at the 61st CAS Awards February 22, 2025, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
The Motion Picture Sound Editors association, the premier organization of entertainment sound editing professionals since 1953, will present Oscar-winning filmmaker and actor Kevin Costner with the 2025 MPSE Filmmaker Award, bestowed annually to a filmmaker of distinction. At the same time, supervising sound editor Greg Hedgepath will receive the Career Achievement Award for his prolific career in sound editing.
New York Women in Film & Television has announced a new scholarship furthering the organization’s support of women’s media legacy. Through the generous donation of the Mysel family, the Nancy Mysel Scholarship Fund will provide NYWIFT with $5,000 per year for The NYWIFT Nancy Mysel Preservation Scholarship.
