CTC Names Lewthwaite and Caffelle to Board of Governors

H. Loren Nielsen has joined Xperi Corporation as vice president, content relations and strategy. Nielsen will serve as the studio liaison for DTS:X object-based immersive sound technology from DTS, a wholly owned Xperi subsidiary.
Vista Group International has announced that Kimbal Riley will take over as group CEO from Murray Holdaway. Holdaway will take up the position of chief product officer and will continue in his role as an executive director on the Vista Group board. This has taken place as part of a succession planning process. The transition takes effect April 3.
FilmLight has named Andy Minuth as its color workflow specialist. Minuth, originally from Germany, was most recently lead colorist at 1000Volt Post Production in Istanbul. There he was responsible for the grade of commercials as well as feature films.
MoviePass has expanded its leadership team and named Bernadette McCabe as senior vice president of exhibitor relations. McCabe, a proven industry veteran and former Screenvision Media executive with more than 16 years of experience, will be responsible for growing and developing the company’s relationships with movie theater exhibitors. She will spearhead strategic initiatives across marketing and business development, provide financial insights for how theaters can glean the most value from MoviePass data and analytics, and evaluate opportunities to increase collaboration between theaters and movie studios.
Visual effects studio FuseFX has named Jim Rygiel executive visual effects supervisor. Rygiel is a three-time Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor who has been a leader in visual effects for many years.
Continuing to grow its original programming unit, Renegade Animation has promoted Brittney Jorgensen to the newly created post of head of marketing and development. Jorgensen will work with creators, writers and animators in developing concepts for animated television series and features, and serve as the studio’s chief liaison with studios, broadcasters and streaming services.
Darryl Schaffer, Screenvision Media’s executive vice president, operations and exhibitor relations, has been inducted into ShowEast’s Hall of Fame as part of its 2017 group of honorees.
The Motion Picture Sound Editors will honor Kathryn Bigelow with its annual Filmmaker Award. The director of such films as Detroit, Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker, is being recognized for her outstanding contributions to the art of cinema. She will receive the award at the MPSE Golden Reel Awards ceremony February 18 in Los Angeles
Manios Digital & Film has appointed Tom O’Neill to direct Eastern Regional Sales. O’Neill will manage sales and dealer relationships in an area including New England, Mid Atlantic, South East and Midwest states. He will also represent the company at trade shows and other industry events in the region.
