Deluxe has appointed George Eyles executive vice president and general manager, worldwide cinema. He will report directly to Deluxe chief operating officer Warren Stein and be responsible for the company’s global cinema (formerly digital cinema) strategy and operations.

National CineMedia has announced that sales and marketing executive Steve Sapp has joined the company in the new role of senior vice president, digital out-of-home sales to lead its NCM/DOOH group, based in New York.

The global cinema industry is set to lose $32 billion in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a 71.5 percent reduction in box office revenue compared to 2019, according to Omdia’s latest Movie Windows: Adapting for the Future report. Last month, ten founding companies and 50 forming companies announced the formation of the Entertainment Globalization Association to create a closer connection to the creative community to better facilitate the retelling of their stories for global audiences. The global pandemic has touched every business in the world and few have been impacted more than cinemas. In response to the situation, over the past ten months Screenvision Media has developed new ways for its cinema advertising customers to reach the public.
