Sound of Freedom Expands Global Release Schedule

Angel Studios has announced its second round of international release dates for the summer sleeper hit Sound of Freedom. Partnering with distribution partners around the world, Angel is able to extend its Pay If Forward offerings to all regions where the film is opening.

The film now ranks in the Top 10 Box Office Cume for the year.  The film just wrapped its seventh weekend in theaters and remains in more than 2,100 theatres with a total box office cume of over $178,000,000.

“We are thrilled to roll out another list of countries where Sound of Freedom is doing a theatrical run, this list spans several continents including Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia, and there is even more to come,” shares Jared Geesey, senior vice president of global distribution for Angel Studios. “We’re seeing surging demand for this film around the globe, and we will continue to make additional announcements in the coming days and weeks.”

On August 31, Sound of Freedom was released in Albania, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Kosovo, Montenegro, N. Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia.

It will be released September 6 in the West Indies, including Antigua, Aruba, Curacao, Guadeloupe, Sr. Croix, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St Thomas, and Trinidad.

On September 14, Sound of Freedom will be released in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

On September 115 it will be released in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Mauritius, and Seychelles.

Sound of Freedom will be released in Philippines, September 20; Brazil, September 21; Taiwan, September 22; and Spain, October 1.

Angel Studios added that more countries are being added weekly.

Sound of Freedom stars Jim Caviezel, Academy Award Winner Mira Sorvino, Bill Camp, José Zúñiga, Eduardo Verástegui, who is also a producer, and was written and directed by Alejandro Monteverde.

Sound of Freedom, based on the incredible true story, shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.
