Christie Returns as TIFF Official Digital Projection Partner for 23rd Year

Christie Digital Systems has renewed its partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival for the 23rd consecutive year and September 17 its technology will power the festival venues, including the Scotiabank Theatre, to help the festival recognize homegrown and international cinema.

RGB pure laser projectors with Real|Laser illumination are installed in Roy Thomson Hall, Royal Alexandra Theatre, and the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre. These projectors are designed for large format theatres and deliver an expansive color gamut and enhanced contrast so that attendees will experience a bright, crisp on-screen image for an unforgettable experience.

Christie is also excited to support screenings at the Scotiabank Theatre, illuminating close to half of their 14 screens with a combination of RGB pure laser and Xenon-based projectors.

TIFF brings the best of Canadian and international cinema to movie lovers with films representing more than 70 countries. TIFF’s official selection includes 37 world premieres, seven international premieres, 12 North American premieres, and four Canadian premieres.

Attendees can expect screenings of Craig Gillespie’s Dumb Money, Michael Keaton’s Knox Goes Away with Al Pacino, Days of Happiness by Canadian writer-director Chloé Robichaud, and more.
