GDC Technology’s Brazil office has signed an agreement with Cinesystem Cinemas, the fourth largest movie theatre company in Brazil, to replace their current theatre management system with GDC’s TMS-2000. The installation will involve 26 cinema locations and 160 screens and is scheduled to be completed by the end of February.
Ncam, manufacturer of real-time camera tracking technology, has opened two new locations built to support the growing demand for smart stages and training facilities in Europe and Latin America. Located in Prague and Rio de Janeiro, the new premises add to Ncam’s existing London and Los Angeles bases.
CES+ has installed remote services and digital cinema technologies at the movie chain CineXT’s theatres in Manta and Quito, Ecuador.

Earlier this year, the Multicines Mall del Rio Guayaquil in Guayaquil, Ecuador became the only cinema project to be started and developed in Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic. The theatre has 11 auditoriums, including a 4D Emotion + 3D screen and a premium large format screen called MCX – Multicines Xtreme. CES+ was the integrator on the project.
Flix Media, the largest cinema advertising sales company across Latin America, has just signed a long-term deal with cinema software company, Unique X, to supply Advertising Accord to 14 territories Flix operates in: Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia, El Salvador, Costa Rica,Curazao, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
The Ecuadorian cinema chain Multicines has just opened a new multiplex in the city of Guayaquil in which all 11 screens are fully equipped with Christie RGB pure laser projectors. The installation was carried out by Cinema Equipment & Supplies. The new multiplex is located in the Mall del Río shopping center in Guayaquil, the country’s main port and largest city.
Cine Colombia, the largest exhibitor in Colombia, with 339 screens across 46 locations, has named Cinionic as exclusive provider of all its cinema visualization technology. The arrangement also includes access to Cinionic’s laser light upgrades and an extended warranty for the circuit’s entire fleet.
Supercines, Ecuador’s largest cinema chain, has opened a 16-screen multiplex in the city of Guayaquil. Located in the Riocentro Ceibos shopping mall, the new Supercines Ceibos, can seat 3,034 spectators, making it the biggest in the country.
The VSI Group has expanded its Latin American operations with the majority acquisition of dubbing, subtitling and media services facility, Vox Mundi, which is based in São Paulo, Brazil.
