Carbonara to Receive SMPTE 2024 Presidential Proclamation

Baylor University’s Corey P. Carbonara, Ph.D., professor of film and digital media, master teacher and an innovator in advancing new frontiers in media production technology, has been selected as one of seven recipients of the 2024 Presidential Proclamation from SMPTE, the society of media professionals, technologists and engineers. Established in 1982, the award recognizes individuals of established and outstanding status and reputation in the motion picture and television industries worldwide.

Lawrence Sher Named Keynote Speaker for 2024 SMPTE Media Technology Summit

The trade association SMPTE has announced that Lawrence Sher, ASC, will be the keynote speaker for the 2024 SMPTE Media Technology Summit, which is being held October 21-24 in Hollywood. Sher is an award-winning cinematographer and director with more than 30 years of experience. He has shot more than 35 features and is the founder/CEO of ShotDeck, a vast digital image library that has become the go-to research tool for creatives across all fields.

SMPTE Names David Grindle Executive Director
