Providence Place Imax Re-Opens

Following a two-year renovation National Amusements has announced the re-opening of the Imax theatre at Providence Place in Providence Rhode Island. The company’s three million dollar reinvestment includes a new Imax digital screen 32 000-watt sound system and a newly updated lobby area including a new concession facility with digital menu systems. “Reinvesting into communities and existing properties is a top priority for National Amusements ” says Steve Horton vice president of U.S. operations. “We are dedicated to providing Providence with a superior entertainment experience with modern cinema technologies and amenities.” The renovations made by National Amusements have also incorporated changes to Providence Place Cinemas 16 including a refurbished lobby area with expanded food service and new menu offerings at Chatter’s Bar & Grill featuring full alcohol service. The entire Providence Place Cinemas 16 and Imax now offer digital projection featuring Sony Digital 4K. Providence Mayor Angel Taveras joined National Amusements at a ribbon cutting ceremony on February 10 marking the grand re-opening of the Imax theatre. National Amusements www.showcasecinemas.com
