Cineplex has opened its two newest CJ 4DPlex ScreenX auditoriums in Montreal, Quebec and Brampton, Ontario. This brings the current total to 17 ScreenX locations in theatres across Canada.
The immersive, panoramic experience at Scotiabank Theatre Montreal and SilverCity Brampton Cinemas debuted with the highly anticipated screening of Wonka just in time for the holiday season.
At Scotiabank Theatre Montreal, ScreenX is combined with UltraAVX, the company’s premium theatre experience that delivers picture quality with stunningly crisp, lifelike detail.
ScreenX is the world’s first multi-projection theatre technology that allows a 270-degree panoramic movie watching experience. ScreenX uses a proprietary system to expand specially selected sequences of the film onto the left and right-side walls of the auditorium, surrounding the audience with imagery as though they were inside the movie. This provides a virtual reality-like setting with cinema quality resolution, creating a truly immersive experience for moviegoers.
