Opening in the second quarter of 2015, Studio Movie Grill (SMG) The Colony will mark the brand's 20th national location and 10th in the Lone Star State. Part of an ongoing strategic expansion, the Lewisville, Texas location will push the company’s total number of screens past 200.

Prior to its grand opening, SMG The Colony will undergo reconstruction and expansion to make room for 11 screens and over 1,500 seats. The 45,000-plus square foot location will be home to first-run movies and the brand's signature in-theater dining service. Each theater will have Dolby audio, Christie projection and Masterimage's Clarity 3D.

"The Dallas market is our home base, and The Colony is an ideal jumping-off point for our continuing expansion. We look forward to welcoming new neighbors and creating even more avid fans in our Metroplex communities," said Brian Schultz, Studio Movie Grill CEO and founder. "As many of our local patrons already know, SMG is so much more than movies. We not only transform the typical cinema experience, we also offer a community gathering place alongside dinner and a movie."

Daniel Campbell of Endeavor Real Estate Group said, "Studio Movie Grill is a best-in-class theater dining operator not only in Texas, but in the country. We're thrilled to welcome them to Lewisville Towne Crossing, and we look forward to the economic impact and traffic SMG will bring to the area. For both residents and visitors, the presence of this new exhibitor will greatly enhance the amenities and attractiveness of the area."
