FilmLight has revealed the nominees for the 2023 FilmLight Color Awards. In their third year, the awards attracted more than 400 entries from 45 countries across the globe and the independent jury of cinematographers, colorists and creatives – lead this year by Lawrence Sher, ASC – has announced a list of 22 nominees across five categories.
“I’m so thrilled by the submissions for this year’s FilmLight Colour Awards,” Sher said. “The diversity of talent and work is, as expected, very high. Our jury meetings so far, with talented cinematographers, colorists and filmmakers, have illuminated how fundamental the colorists’ work is in the film-making process and it’s been a complex job to determine the nominees. Everyone that has made it through these early rounds has, in our eyes, already won. I am looking forward to CamerImage where we will celebrate and announce the winners.”
All nominees and projects will be celebrated and the winners announced at the annual FilmLight Color Awards ceremony which takes place at EnergaCamerImage in Poland on November 12.
The Color Awards are lead and organized by FilmLight, in conjunction with EnergaCamerImage, and are supported by prominent international groups such as the The American Society of Cinematographers, the British Society of Cinematographers, The French Society of Cinematographers, the Colorist Society International, the Chinese Society of Cinematographers, the International Federation of Cinematographers, the Polish Society of Cinematographers and many more.
